How to get a high GPA starting with your freshman year?
How can a high GPA help you in high school?
Having a High Gpa in your freshman year can help you in a lot of factors. First off, it can help your overall GPA before you send your application to colleges. Second, it can help boost your confidence for future years in high school, without worrying about how difficult it is. A third reason is that it can help boost your ranking in High school especially if your school does it by weighted Gpa. Here is how to get a high GPA in your freshman year of high school.
Get high grades on your daily assignments and good grades on your major assignments
We all know what major grades and daily grades are. It's basically a 50-50 and it determines our sides but we can use that 50-50 to our advantage to get a higher GPA than anyone. Whenever you have a daily grade like homework, any assignment, or a quiz, try to get an A on it no matter what. With a high daily grade percentage, it can result in up to 45 out of 50 points. Of course, you do have to study yet that's kinda obvious to get a good grade. For Major grades, if you have a project/ presentation then try to get above a 90+. It is easier and better than trying to get a 100 on a test even if it's a multiple choice. For tests, I recommend starting studying the chapter or unit for 30 minutes to an hour a day until the test, practicing each section and perfecting it for the test. Doing this does require a really good timetable and a clear motive for that high GPA that you desire as it will benefit you in an impactful way. But that's only one way to get a high GPA.
Taking multiple ACC(Pre AP) and AP courses
Of course, it's not wise to cram your first year with many Pre AP and AP courses but depending on your school, it'll have a higher significance on your GPA if a Pre Ap class can help boost your weighted Gpa by 5 points then it would be better to have a 105 then a 100 in a class. These classes will also help you become a more efficient student than if you were just a regular student. Plus you get to meet more classmates who are just like you, trying to be at the top but you need to remember that only you should be at the top. Yet taking these classes doesn't mean you don't put any effort into them. It will take hours upon hours to get that A+ or that A as it will overall benefit your ranking. Having an A in a Pre AP class is better than an A+ in a regular class. Similarly having a B+ in an Ap class is better than having an A+ in a regular class as you are out through more work than a typical regular student. And getting that grade shows that you are quite special when it comes to learning and understanding new knowledge being taught to you.
Conclusion
When I was in high school, I knew I wanted to get into a top school like Rice, and I knew I was willing to endure the sacrifices and pain to get there. I cared deeply about my academic success and I constantly pushed myself to get better. If this sounds like you and you honestly want to get a 4.0 for good reasons, then you'll vibe strongly with my advice.
