What to expect for your Junior Year of High School?
Starting it off and Course Rigor
Alright then, it's almost close to graduating high school in less than a year and now you are in the final tough year in high school. It's going to be tough starting with how difficult your schedule is for this year. You may take all APS or Honors classes which do sound tough yet it's not something to worry too much about. The reason why is that having a rigorous course can prove to many colleges that you are a hard-working student. Plus it'll help your Gpa, and meet many amazing teachers that can help you learn a lot better and become a better student with better work habits.
Important Things to do
Now let's get started with the most important thing to do on your checklist this year. That is maintaining your Gpa, getting a high SAT or ACT score, building your extracurricular activities, and building relationships with teachers so that you can get recommendation letters. To maintain your Gpa, try to pass your classes with As but if Ap classes a B+ is fine since Ap classes are more of a workload than a regular class. To get a high SAT and ACT, then focus on practicing and learning about either test and wait for the test date and the score release date. To build your activities, get leadership positions, try to get awards, and try to make an impact on the community and your character. For recommendation letters, try to work on developing talks and asking teachers for help at certain times, you don't need to be afraid of asking or talking as long as you are learning from asking. Doing these goals can help you with your application and become a top student in your high school. Build your college list and know the requirements
Now, this is important for both people who already made their list and for people who haven't even started on their list. Make a list of universities and colleges that interest you as you are trying to find the place you want to be in for the next 4-6 years learning the career you are deeply interested in. You don't need to be worried that you want to go to a state school or a safety school as it depends only on you. Just make sure that you find the requirements the school has. For example, Does it require the Common App or Apply Texas, or if it has more essays or you need to make a portfolio, being in interviews asking questions to learn more about colleges.
Conclusion
This will be a challenging year for you from the hard classes, the long hours of working on everything trying to make it perfect but if you need a few days to relax then take it. You don't need to bury yourself in work every day to burn yourself out and become less motivated to achieve the goals you wish to achieve. It is a long journey but this can help you enjoy life in the future by working on the career you wanted to learn.
